How long does it take to get up and running and for ABS taking over my billing component?
The billing process is a precise and delicate one that must be carefully addressed. However, ABS is an expert. While timing may vary, ABS is confident, based on our experience, that an approximate timeframe for a practicing provider in a given state to get up and running with ABS is 4-6 weeks. If you are a new provider just introducing your services, this could range from 8-10 weeks. (Note: These are estimated time periods, dependent upon the timeliness of delivery of paperwork to ABS and processing of same with insurance companies)
Do you only provide services in Arizona?
With roots dating back nearly three decades throughout Arizona, ABS' clients are primarily located throughout the state. Nevertheless, with this ever-changing healthcare environment in which we participate, ABS is in the process of expanding its reach to serve clients nationwide.
How do I get started?
Contact ABS at 1-800-359-9525 or email admin@absincorp.com and we would be happy to create a tailored program that best meets the needs of your practice or hospital, which would include establishing fee schedules and developing workflow processes necessary for rapid claims reimbursement.
Is there a start-up fee?
There is an implementation fee, based on each client's specific needs.
What do you base your charges on for handling my practice's billing?
Billing services are provided as percentage of net collections. It is necessary to analyze each practice and consider variables such as payor mix, insurance contract rates, location and type of services provided to determine an exact billing percentage. Each practice is unique and requires careful consideration to provide the right services at competitive rates. It is important to note that a client's success is our success so we want to make sure we take the time to understand client needs and expectations.

Software charges are separate and billed monthly based on licensing use. Depending on the extent of the setup needed to customize the software to the practice, there also may be implementation and training costs associated with the relationship.

Does ABS provide physician coding support?
Yes. ABS coders are trained to review patient medical records to verify coding accuracy. Feedback is provided to the client as necessary.
Who would be my day-to-day contact?
Each ABS account has a senior manager assigned to service the relationship. That person is available to handle all client needs.
Is ABS the developer of the EPM and EMR solutions it offers?
ABS works closely with a qualified and proven third-party vendor, however, we do have the ability to customize the software based on a specific practice's needs.
Does ABS have a compliance program?
ABS implemented a Corporate Compliance Program in March 1999 after the Office of Inspector General introduced a compliance program for third-party medical billing companies. Our Board of Directors appointed a Compliance Officer and established an eight-member committee to oversee the design, development, organization, implementation, enforcement and monitoring of the Corporate Compliance Program. ABS is HIPAA compliant.
Does ABS assist in negotiating insurance contracts?
Yes, ABS provides necessary data to help physicians work directly with insurance providers to establish criteria for contracted rates.
Does ABS monitor insurance payments?
ABS has a program that monitors insurance payments daily to verify that claims were processed at the previously negotiated contract rates.
