in the top 5% of medical billing companies in the country.
The company was started with 4 employees and has grown to

to focus on its core competency of medical billing. Dedication
to quality work and servicing of the client’s needs
remains our focal point.
ABS implemented a Corporate Compliance Program in March
1999 after the Office of Inspector General introduced a
compliance program for third party medical billing companies.
Our Board of Directors appointed a Compliance Officer and
established an eight member committee to oversee the design,
development, organization, implementation, enforcement and
monitoring of the Corporate Compliance Program. ABS is HIPAA
compliant.
We have implemented education and training programs for
all employees with special emphasis on compliance issues.
Our audit team and Compliance Officer completed AAPC training
and are Certified Professional Coders. Additionally, many
of our managers and supervisors have also become AAPC Certified.

Humana, in addition to other smaller insurance companies
who will accept them.
ABS has the capability to receive demographic and charge

staff can work with a variety of file types and develop
automated exchange of electronic data.
ABS has migrated to a paperless system by integrating equipment
necessary to optically scan hardcopy documents received
from providers or insurance companies.
Licensing and Professional Organizations
ABS has been licensed by the State Banking Commission
since 1989 and maintains the bonding required by statute.
We’re proud to be a member of the Healthcare Billing
& Management Association (HBMA). Founded in 1993, HBMA
serves as the only trade association representing third-party
medical billers. Constant changes in Medicare, Medicaid,
private health insurance legislation and regulations make
it essential for third-party billers to maintain a presence
in Washington, DC. The HBMA works with and educates Congress
and the Administration on issues affecting third-party billers.
The association is deeply involved in legislative and regulatory
issues affecting physicians, Medicare, Medicaid and the
managed care industry.
